I write short stories, poems, haibun, and theatrical pieces, and I’m working on a series of novels and a screenplay. In June 2025 I released a short story collection called Slightly Twisted.
I’ve had several stories, poems, haibun and a children’s book published, and a play and a couple of vignettes performed. I write now under the name Lin Edwards, but some works have been published under my full name of Linda Edwards. Since retiring (more or less) from my work as an editor and online article writer (and previous work as a technical writer), I am now concentrating on fiction.
I have many interests, including theatre, music, history, science, permaculture, maths, and knitting dogs. I also find that a lot of what I write turns into comedy of its own accord. I consider myself a lifelong learner.
I’ve appeared in numerous plays and directed several, with the most recent being as an actor in a musical comedy with a company called Wined Up Theatre.
I’ve also acted in and directed several Shakespeare plays with the Raw Shakespeare Project including Romeo and Juliet, Taming of the Shrew, Antony and Cleopatra, Love’s Labour’s Lost, As You Like It, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, Hamlet, and Macbeth. I’ve also appeared in many plays with other companies around Adelaide, and in Sydney before that. I’ve sung and attempted to dance in variety shows (where I keep to the back row so nobody notices). I’ve been brave enough to sing a few solos, and was a member of the Sisters of Abundance choir. I’ve also taken part in the Big Sing twice. I love music including piano, recorders, beginning on violin, and I belong to a ukulele ensemble.
I was born in Stoke-on-Trent in England, but have lived in Australia since I was 18. I currently live in South Australia with a menagerie of animals and birds.
I was educated at the University of Sydney, where I gained a BSc in Biochemistry and Chemistry, and more recently at Griffith University, where I gained a BA in English Literature and Composition and a Graduate Certificate in Literary Classics.
I’ll be self-publishing another poetry book later in 2025. I used to write theatre reviews regularly for the Adelaide Theatre Guide under the name Linda Edwards, but gave that up. I was a member of the Woodcroft Writers group and my stories were included in several of their anthologies. I’m now a founder member of Create-Write, a critique group meeting at the Reynella Community Centre.
I hate having pictures taken almost as much as I hate having root canal treatment, but I’ve reluctantly decided to include the following pictures for all to see:

I may turn into a glamour-puss one day, but so far there seems little hope this will happen soon, unless I use my photoshop skills.
BTW. I mostly write under the name ‘Lin Edwards’ because when I first started submitting work there was already a published writer with my full name (Linda Edwards). Losing the ‘duh’ at the end felt good.
